Carlos Cosín is the CEO of Almar Water Solutions and leads the strategic management and development to implement its vision and drive its success in the sector.
Through 20 years of experience in the industry, he has developed desalination, wastewater and reuse projects around the globe for both municipal and industrial sectors. During this time he has closed agreements under both EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) and BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) models across five continents.
Some of his most significant achievements include the development of the first BOT model water project in West Africa and winning the Water Company of The Year award in 2015.
Born in Madrid, Spain, Carlos Cosín graduated in Agricultural Engineering from the Madrid Polytechnic University, and he is a director of the International Desalination Association (IDA). He was previously a member of the European Innovation Partnership on Water (EIP Water) Steering Group, between 2013 and 2016.
Arantxa Mencía is Business Development Director at Almar Water Solutions and is responsible for commercial and business management activities.
With over 15 years’ experience in the sector, she has developed water projects in the United Kingdom, United States, Mexico and Spain. A specialist in major water infrastructure, she has coordinated large multidisciplinary teams and closed international project agreements on four continents.
Her major achievements include the development of the first BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) desalination project in West Africa and the closure of the largest capacity desalination project in Morocco.
Born in Aranda de Duero, Burgos, Spain, Arantxa Mencía graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Valladolid.
Santiago Martínez is Executive Director at Almar Water Solutions and is responsible for project development and PPP (Public Private Partnership) contract management.
With 25 years of experience in both the municipal and industrial sectors, he has led water projects worldwide and developed relationships with governments, banks, partners and clients.
He has significant experience in major asset management capabilities of investments between US$ 100 and 800 million.
Born in Madrid, Spain, Santiago Martínez graduated in Industrial Engineering from Madrid Polytechnic University. He holds two Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from the IE Business School in Madrid and Loyola University – ESADE Business School.
Rodrigo Segovia is Executive Director at Almar Water Solutions and his areas of focus include engineering and project development.
With a long career in both the municipal and industrial markets and 25 years of experience in the sector, he has developed projects all over the world under EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) and BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) contracts. An expert in project management, contracting, engineering, risks and procurement, he has managed teams of over 100 people and has participated in the closure of contracts and negotiations with partners and clients around the globe.
Rodrigo Segovia graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers (ICAI) at the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid, and holds a PDD (Management Development Program) from Loyola University, Andalusia.
Gonzalo Gómez-Rodulfo is Executive Director at Almar Water Solutions responsible for services and project development.
With over two decades of experience in the sector, he has managed water treatment plants around the world with a capacity of almost 1 million cubic meters per day. An expert in major water infrastructure services, he has managed teams of over 250 people and multi-million dollar project budgets.
Born in Madrid, Spain, Gonzalo Gómez-Rodulfo graduated in Industrial Chemical Engineering from the Complutense University in Madrid, and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the I.E.S.E. Business School at the University of Navarra in Madrid.
Felipe Guinea is Executive Director at Almar Water Solutions responsible for financing and project development.
With a long career in the financing of Spanish and international projects and 15 years’ sector experience, he has been responsible for seeking out and building relationships with financial partners, lenders, credit agencies, international institutions and multilateral agencies among others. He is an expert in identifying and appraising possible financial risks and has worked on all phases of infrastructure projects, from development and construction to operation, globally. His most recent achievements include the management of a water project portfolio worth US$ 2.3 billion.
Born in Bilbao, Spain, Felipe Guinea graduated in Law from Deusto University in Bilbao, and holds an MBA from the Business Institute in Madrid. He also took a Higher Education Program at the Harvard Kennedy School, entitled “Infrastructure in a Market Economy: Public-Private Partnerships in a changing world”.
