This week, Almar Water Solutions took part in WFES Water, the most important water event in the Middle East, which forms part of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. Designed by the world’s most prominent water experts, WFES Water focused on the Water-Energy-Food nexus with the goal of optimizing the efficiency of resources, sustainability and security in arid regions.
Once again this year, Almar Water Solutions participated in two very interesting sessions. The first was titled “Harnessing Renewable Technology to Reduce the Energy Footprint of Water” and it focused on how the revolution of clean and renewable energies, and their impact on the water sector, can help overcome climate change. In this session, Carlos Cosín, CEO of Almar Water Solutions, presented several different success stories and new focuses for increasing the use of renewable energies in advanced water systems.
In the second panel discussion titled “Water financing and the developing world”, Carlos Cosín served as moderator along with the CEO of Aquatech, Devesh Sharma. This second session covered how technology for the common good of the population is being financed and the ease with which money can be redirected to support innovation in the water sector. It also discussed what banks and investors are looking for when it comes to financing a long-term water project.
With the International Desalination Association (IDA) as a Content Partner, at this year’s event, WFES Water presented the latest innovations and technologies that will help resolve the significant challenges of water scarcity in the world and that will make it possible to carry out the Water Security Strategy in the United Arab Emirates.
